The Pharmacy Technician training program is designed to help students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to work as pharmacy technicians and prepare to sit for the PTCB national certification exam. Pharmacy technicians work in retail, hospital, and clinic pharmacies. They assist pharmacists in formulating, labeling, and dispensing medications. Numerous exercises and assessments throughout each of the 14 modules ensure that students master each concept before moving on, and knowledgeable student support advisors are available from program start to finish. This program is designed to be completed in 4-12 months or less, with approximately 600 hours of instruction.
An unpaid 130 hour externship is required for this program. Externship partnerships are set up with CVS and Walgreens.
You will also have access to career and graduate services to help you identify job opportunities, develop your resume and interviewing skills and perhaps obtain a letter of recommendation to show prospective employers.
