« back to classes page
Shinrin yoku or “forest bathing” is a traditional Japanese practice that is gaining ground in America for those seeking natural health options. Shinrin yoku is to simply BE in nature, connecting ourselves to it through our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. This ancient practice provides real health benefits like stress relief, better sleep, improved energy levels and mindfulness. This is an experiential workshop held on Normandale’s beautiful campus nature preserves.
  • Course Objectives (for the student/attendee):
    • Learn the health benefits of shinrin yoku
    • Acquire and practice several 'invitations' to connect more with themselves
    • Apply invitations on shinrin yoku walk
    • Reflect/journal about experience - how they are more connected after experience
