Whether you are planning to travel to Russia or are interested in the Russian language and culture, this course will help you learn to immediately communicate in Russian in a fun and interactive way. Students will learn to travel to and through Russia with ease and get to know the culture beyond the stereotypes. (Russia is not just the land of vodka, big furry hats, and the countless villains of American action films.)
 
The goals are:
  1. Understand the basic differences between English and Russian language structures
  2. Learn the Russian alphabet, basic reading and listening comprehension skills, and proper pronunciation
  3. Learn to write your name, names of friends, and short phrases in Russian
  4. Learn the basics: numbers, days of the week, months of the year, and telling time
  5. Learn key words and phrases to navigate through the airport, customs, and hotel
  6. Learn about the Trans-Siberian Express (the most common mode of travel for many Russians)
  7. Learn to read and identify signs that you will encounter in Russian
  8. Start to develop a beginning sense of the Russian language to inspire future learning and development
