The Inpatient/Outpatient Professional Medical Coding & Billing with Applied PCS (Procedure Coding System)
program is a comprehensive independent study program designed for the individual who would like to work in the healthcare coding and billing industry. The program prepares students to sit for the CCA (AHIMA) and/or CPC (AAPC) certification exams. This 19-module course addresses mastering medical terminology, documentation, confidentiality, ethics, healthcare structure, pharmacology, disease processes, diagnostic coding and healthcare reimbursement. This is a non-credit course. A certificate of completion will be issued to the student upon the completion of the course. 640 Contact Hours.
Students who focus full-time on this program can finish the training in 6-9 months. Part-time students have up to 12 months to finish the program. Students will receive comprehensive technical support throughout the course and full access to online career services, including resume review, reference letters, graduate consultations and other job placement help. This is a non-credit course.
